Edwin Forrest played a tremendous week's business in October, 1870, closing his engagement by presenting "Damon and Pythias" for the benefit of the Knights of Pythias in Richmond. This was Forrest 's last appearance in Richmond. He died at his home in Philadelphia, Dec. 12, 1872.
