Charles Lindbergh

In October 1927, The Spirit of St. Louis brought "Slim" Lindbergh to Bryd Field, Richmond, after his non-stop flight to Paris. He was 25.

Charles A. "Slim" Lindbergh landed his aircraft "Spirit of St. Louis" at Richmond's Byrd Field in October 1927, and spoke of his solo nonstop flight, New York to Paris, in Richmond's City Auditorium after a triumphant parade through the street's of Richmond.

Reverend William Ashley Sunday

Reverend William Ashley Sunday preached in the City Auditorium, in Richmond, Virginia in the 1920's.

From ball-player to evangelist, Billy Sunday is still remembered today for his energetic preaching style and large, successful evangelistic campaigns. In his lifetime, Billy Sunday addressed over 100 million people without the aid of loud speakers, TV, or radio.

Sunday remained committed to his ministry for God. He passed away after a heart attack in 1935 at age 73.
